Investigators

Dr. Cynthia Brinson

Dr. Brinson graduated from Texas Tech Medical School, did her residency here in Austin and did a fellowship in academic and scientific development. She started doing research in 1991 and fell in love with bringing new drugs to the patients who needed them.

Dr. Brinson has been the President and Medical Director of Central Texas Clinical Research since its inception in 1999.  She oversees all clinical and research related aspects of the business and is the Principal Investigator on most of the studies we conduct.

A sought-after speaker on the topic of HIV, Dr. Brinson frequently presents HIV research papers she has authored or co-authored at medical conferences.  Dedicated to prevention, she is also the medical director for Austin’s PrEP Access Clinic, which is housed here at CTCR.

She is board certified in Family Practice and practices family medicine with her partners at Red River Family Practice. She is an awesome doctor, and her patients are crazy about her. We are very lucky to have her!
